Acupressure

What is Acupressure?

About the modality itself:

Acupressure is a healing treatment  based on a 2000-year old tradition of  Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupressure is a specific type of massage using only thumbs, fingers and palms to improve Qi (energy) circulation through the body’s natural pathways. Blockage of this flow or imbalance can cause pain and other imbalances. The pressure techniques and rhythms of acupressure restore smooth flow of qi and promote balance by stimulating the muscles to help relax. There are more than 300 different acupressure points on the body, and each provides a specific effect.

He loved Robyn (acupressure provider), who immediately made him feel very comfortable, especially when she explained how it worked before she even touched him..We are forever thankful for the opportunity to experience this and we now use it in our daily lives!

Soft Touch

Acupressure is a gentle form of bodywork that uses light touch to stimulate specific points on the body for therapeutic result. The term "acupressure" can be misleading... a better name might be "acutouch."

Very little pressure is required to stimulate acu-points, so patients experience a comfortable and relaxing treatment, much like a massage.

Each acu-point creates a different response in the body to promote healing... from relaxing the diaphragm to reduce nausea and vomiting,  promotiong deep breathing, digestion and increased blood flow.
